Presentation of the electronic cigarette
The all new cigarette substitute Alfacig is the latest model of electronic cigarettes. It benefits from the latest technological advances concerning the battery, vaporiser and microprocessor. It is equally fitted with a heat detecting unit situated at its tip.
The electronic cigarette can be characterised as having two modes of functionality:
A passive mode: The electronic cigarette does not function in the passive mode. If you should try to use it no smoke will be produced and the luminous diode at the tip will not light up.
An active mode: When a heat source such as a lighter flame is applied to the extremity of the electronic cigarette it will automatically switch to active mode. It will work for approximately 5 minutes and at each inhalation smoke will be produced and the luminous diode at the tip which resembles the glowing end of a real cigarette will light up.
After 5 minutes the electronic cigarette again returns to passive mode until a heat source is reapplied.
The electronic cigarette body is covered by a coating resistant to very high temperatures. The metal extremity is covered by a heat sensitive element. This reacts to a heat source superior to 60°C. Any type of heat source such as a car cigarette lighter or normal cigarette lighter will activate the substitute. It is important to note that no actual combustion takes place.
An internal timer permits it to work for 5 minutes before going into passive mode. This time corresponds with the average time taken to use a real cigarette.
The cartridges contain a liquid of which the principal ingredients are:
- Artificial tobacco flavour.
- Glycerine (to generate the false smoke).
- Nicotine (from 0 to 16 mg according to the choice of cartridges).
When you inhale, the microprocessor activates the vaporiser which mixes the liquid with the air inhaled. This mixture is released in the form of vapour and is inhaled by the user. The evaporation of the glycerine reproduces the smoke of a real cigarette.
A cartridge produces approximately 200 to 250 inhalations. This is equivalent to approximately fifteen cigarettes.
