Few people know the electronic cigarette and the questions often asked are as follows. However those “in the know” may prefer to go directly to the section “Method” which explains the differences between this electronic cigarette and the others.

What is an electronic cigarette ?

It's very simple, it's something that looks like a cigarette, that is used like a cigarette but which is not a cigarette and above all is not toxic like a real cigarette. In fact, it's a cigarette where the tobacco has been replaced by electronics.

What's the point of it ?

It replaces your normal, harmful cigarette.

How is it used ?

I would say that it is used as a real cigarette. You put in your mouth, you apply a flame, you inhale and you breathe smoke out.

When do you use it?

So the electronic cigarette helps to stop smoking?

This new electronic cigarette is very recent and no studies have been undertaken as yet to confirm its help in stopping smoking. But as it's resemblance to a real cigarette is so convincing, you easily forget that you're using an electronic cigarette instead of a real one.

How does it work?

Inside the electronic cigarette a small receptor detects the proximity of a flame and activates the system. At each inhalation smoke is generated and a small luminous diode at the end of the electronic cigarette simulates combustion. The system works for 5 minutes before going on standby ready for the next time you approach a flame to the end.

How is the smoke made?

The cigarette filter is replaced by a cartridge containing a liquid. This liquid is composed of various alimentary substances that enable the production of an artificially flavoured smoke. When you inhale, air is mixed with this liquid and transformed into vapour by an atomiser. This vapour gives the impression of real smoke as produced by a real cigarette.

What about the nicotine?

The cartridges can contain nicotine (4 different levels of concentration). This permits at the beginning the absorption of the same amount of nicotine as a real cigarette and the user can gradually decrease this amount in the following months.

How many times can you use this cigarette?

As many times as you wish. The electronic cigarette is fitted with a small battery which needs charging like a mobile telephone. The cartridge permits 200 inhalations before being replaced.

What are the advantages of an electronic cigarette?

The main advantages are :

Non carcinogenic : no absporption of the 4000 harmful products found in normal cigarette smoke.
The electronic cigarette reproduces the act, the taste and the sensation that you have when smoking a normal cigarette.
Does not endanger the health of those around you ( no passive smoking ).
Usable in the majority of public places.
There is no real combustion so no risk of fire.

Does there exist different types of electronic cigarettes?

There are different manufacturers of electronic cigarettes present on the internet. Alfacig is a patented model that was created using the latest technological innovations and is the only model available worldwide that can be "lit" using a lighter.

How much does it cost?

Without going into details, it costs at least half the cost of smoking and doesn't endanger your health which is priceless. On my site I have set the price for a complete kit at €86 and a starter kit at €39.
